Don't miss some of these cultural and tourist events. Remember to confirm the dates:

TAPATI RAPA NUI
Folklore festival recalling the island's traditions and culture, featuring Tapati Rapa Nui beauty queen candidates, fishing, dancing and singing contests, among others. Taking place in February (confirm dates).

SUN WORSHIPPING CEREMONY
A ceremony stressing the importance of the sun for the Rapa Nui community, in which where outstanding personalities from Rapa Nui participate. Held on June 22.

TOKERAU FESTIVAL
This festival, carried out by a group of young people, is aimed at preserving the island's traditions and culture as well as to collect funds for charitable purposes. It is held in July.

LANGUAGE DAY
This event seeks to evaluate the activities performed by the Rapa Nui's Language Department. It presents the best works in Rapa Nui literature, kai kai, stories, drawing and painting, tattooing, dances and singing.
